Measuring 49" high x 10" wide. Contents & functionality unknown at time of cataloguing. (Admiral Fitzroy 1805-1865, was the Captain of The HMS Beagle that took Charles Darwin on board to Patagonia. Soon after his retirement, Capt. Fitzroy turned his knowledge of seafaring towards developing a barometer for inhabitants living in coastal areas, and which bears his name. This lot must be picked up.

He joined the Royal Navy on his 18th birthday giving his occupation as Labourer. His service number was 222393 He sadly died of illness on the 27th of October 1918 and was buried in Wraverham Cemetery. At the time of his death, he was serving on HMS Whitley.
